The performance at the “Panorama Music Festival” in the Italian Dolomites was the starting signal for the progressive intertwining of two paths in life that have a great common denominator: the love of jazz as the epitome of a symbiosis of freedom, sophistication and lively interaction. Seven years later, the pianist and singer Olivia Trummer and the Italian drummer Nicola Angelucci present a first snapshot of their musical kinship with the joint album “Dialogue’s Delight”.”Dialogue’s Delight” is familiarity cast in sound. Poetic and virtuosic, Olivia Trummer and Nicola Angelucci present their own compositions and arrangements of selected jazz standards and invite the audience to follow their melodic, rhythmically refined dialogue. The basic ingredients of the duo already result in a surprisingly orchestral mixture: Olivia’s disarmingly clear vocals, which are perfectly in tune even at dizzying heights, her sophisticated piano touch and improvisation skills meet Nicolas’ multi-faceted drumming with sticks, brushes, mallets and hands, which wraps around the music like fine embroidery to culminate at selected moments in imaginative solos full of intensity.

The duo has invited accordionist Luciano Biondini, who is in demand worldwide, as a special guest on the album as well as live on stage. The versatile Italian virtuoso emphatically and passionately expands the sound spectrum of the duo and immerses the music in an emotional light. Far removed from jazz music vanities, the three make music full of devotion and lightness. They celebrate their mutual understanding through the instruments and make you want to take part in the conversation – as a pleasure listener.
